There are two voices in my head. One of theme is telling me that i am whole completed such as i am, and every edition to that is a coltural intervention. and the second voice is telling me that only after i am getting dressed, wearing my jewelry and makeup can I feel and then i finally act like myself. 

 

During coronavirus I had to stay alot at my studio for very long without seeing anyone. I was completely isolated from society and  that period of time solved the dilemma for me. I’ve noticed very quickly that I can actually move forward and feel energetic and have an effective day. I must shower every morning, wear the best of the best clothes and jewelries and fully makeup I can wear. I feel my moves are changing and becoming more delicate, I've noticed I start speaking more quietly and accurately. I know I am not doing it to impress the people or the guys around me, because I am obviously completely alone. 

 

I used to think alot about circumcision. I understand that having circumcision after 8 days for a male baby is an order for the Jewes, but half of the jews not even religious, like I am, most of them still choose very gladly  to generate the ceremony for their babies. How come?! Circumcision as itself seems like a weird ceremony including cousin unnecessarily pain to an innocent creature. How in the world has a ceremony like that appeared for more than 2000 year and still be so relevant? And the interesting part of that, is that even most atheists I’ve known were very excited about  doing it to their child. 

After many years of thinking about this issue, I came to the conclusion that there are few reasons for that wonder, and one of them is that it’s making the theme feel whole by reducing a piece of their bodies. The other parts include feelings that are related to a deep feeling of belonging to the people of Israel. 

Circumcision is a sensitive issue to talk about, and it became a microcosmus of our society itself. It contains deep questions about manners of human rights, about the connection between the creator and the creature, about identity, which Priority is more important? our fathers way, or democracy? 

I think that if people are doing it so gladly, out of free will, if it has so many meanings and significance, if every child thank their parents for choosing to do that for theme,  if atheist people are doing it, even adult movies actors are doing it as grown people only to look more esthetic, and if most of the guys feel good about it - then it’s o.k

I also believe that the debate about having or not having Circumcision should be closed between the Jews (or the Muslems) themselves and I don’t appreciate forgain voices out of my culture judging us, thinking that they know what's best for us. A real tolerant and loving culture is a culture that respects and embrace the differences between people, and not like the Tower of Babel’s culture.
