This Is What
A Feminist
Looks Like!

In summer 2011, when I was participating in the biggest social protest in Israel, I was very lucky to meet Saber. Unexpectedly, he became a neighbor of mine for the next three years (!) Saber was such a great neighbor: He used to help me a lot to reconstruct my rental apartment, and shared some of his wisdom about herbs, self-healing, and many secrets of the Bedouin kitchen.
I was also overwhelmed about his bold and radical actions to help women in distress as well. He used to work extra time so he could give his sisters money, so they could be independent. Saber used to be involved directly by protecting immigrant women from violence.
I heard many other stories over time. Most of those stories of heroism accrued to my ears through mutual friends, and not from Saber himself. So being humble and courageous is also part of his character, beside standing up for Women!
Me, Saber and freinds eating dinner together.
Those were days.
